- During the development phase, various activities will be carried out based on the recommendations made in the previous phase:
- The targeted academic programs at Palestinian partner universities will be modified by adding several courses that aim to deliver new and modern nutrition knowledge. This will be conducted under the supervision of EU consultants.
- The Palestinian partner institutes will develop clinical nutrition manual, this effort will be guided by EU staff.
- Mobility of selected academic staff members to receive tailored training in the fields of practical nutrition at EU partner universities. This will allow academic staff members to deliver the new courses in the modified programs.
- The students of the targeted academic programs in the Palestinian partner universities will receive teaching and training at the hands of academics that were trained at EU partner universities.
- A group of best students will be selected from the Palestinian partner universities to go through a one-semester exchange program with EU partner universities to study clinical nutrition.
- Selected nutritionists and related health workers from the Palestinian nutrition service provider partner will receive a professional training at EU partner hospitals or medical centers.
- The students of the targeted academic programs in the Palestinian partner universities will receive technical and practical training at the hands of professionals that were trained at EU partner hospitals or medical centers.
- The culmination of the above-listed developmental activities and capacity building activities will be reflected on curricula modification, academic staff skills and capabilities, students’ knowledge and skills gain, nutrition professionals operational and treatment skills.
- Establishment and development of nutrition laboratory designated for teaching practical knowledge related to nutrition assessment, diet planning and food analysis.
- Nutrition assessment, food analysis and diet planning laboratories will be equipped with specialized equipment that will help academic staff, student and researchers in the field of nutrition.
