Dean of the Faculty of Natural Science and Education, Angel Kanchev University of Ruse

Assoc. Prof. Despina Georgieva was born in 1968. She completed her basic medical education in 1988 in Rousse. From 1988 to 1998 she worked as a nurse in a therapeutic ward. From 1998 to 2007, a lecturer at the Medical College - Rousse, is in the structure of the Medical University of Pleven. Since 2007 she has been assistant professor at Rousse University "A. Kanchev ". She has a doctorate in pedagogy, a Master's degree in Psychology at the University of Veliko Tarnovo and a Bachelor's degree in Health Care Management. She gained two qualifications: a psychologist and a psychology teacher at the University of Veliko Tarnovo. She is currently Head of Department of Healthcare, having acquired the position in January 2020. Author of 2 nursing textbooks: “Nursing Care for the Elderly”, “Palliative Nursing Care”, and 2 monographies – “Pre-graduate Internship and Professional Adaptation of the Nurse” and “A Concept for Changing the Traditional Methods and Devices for Patient Hygiene with Alternative Ones”. She has over 82 scientific publications in Bulgaria and abroad. Assoc. Prof. Despina Georgieva is a member of the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria and of the Bulgarian Association of Healthcare Professionals and the European Public Health Association (EUPHA).

Present financial-accounting activity of budgetary (a state) enterprise, financial accounting the activities in international projects and projects in operational programs of European Union, etc.

Chief professor assistant doctor teaching in Project management, Communication and PR, Project management for security sector, EU policy in civil protection and Emergency Situation Management, Unmanned Aircraft Systems in Defense and Security.

Associate Professor Ivanichka Serbezova is born in 1959. She acquires her basic medical education in 1980 in the town of Rousse and has been teaching practical studies in Rousse`s Medical College since 1986 (the College was a part of the Pleven Medical University from 1997). She is Assistant Professor in Rousse University “Angel Kanchev” since 2007. In 2016 she becomes Head of the Department of Health Care in the Faculty of Public Health and Health Care in the same university until 2020. In 2020 she assumes the position of Director of the Directorate of Education Quality and Accreditation in Ruse University “Angel Kanchev”. Associate Professor Ivanichka Serbezova has a PhD in Pedagogy, Master`s Degree in Andragogy from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridsky” and a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Management. In Medical University of Sofia she acquires her major in Medical Pedagogy. She is the author of 4 scientific books: “Specialized midwife care for pregnant and laboring women, mothers and newborns”, “Specialized midwife care for pregnant and laboring women with somatic diseases’, “Video Materials within the Education of Medical and Healthcare Experts”, “Optimizing healthcare education through video methods” and has published over 90 scientific articles nationally and internationally. Associate Professor Ivanichka Serbezova is a member of the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Association of Healthcare Professionals and the European Public Health Association (EUPHA).
